I have seen a few people post a masterlist about their pairings but I am going to leave the floor open and give me a series and I will tell you the pairings I like and why I like them.
Well the first ship is Viktor/Flik and this was before I actually KNEW what slash fiction was. (I was a late bloomer on the internet front and played Suikoden a year before I had a reliable access to the internet) To me, it always seemed as if they were meant for each other (despite what happened with Odessa, god bless her and most Silverberg souls, oh gosh, I love the Silverbergs, best tactician family ever)-- and when it was mentioned at the end of the game that they ran off together after the assault on the Emperor's castle. The second game made it even better with the advent of Viktor and Flik as Mercenaries (and Viktor's drawings-- "IT's a bear! 'no it's a lion"-- I used to have an icon of a chibi Viktor with his drawing... I also have a neat Flik icon that I may have to dig up just so that you can see it-- it has a matching Viktor icon as well)
Second favorite ship is Gremio/Tir-- yeah, it may seem wierd and Gremio is older then Tir-- but it's one of those pairings that I think works well in that I remember Tir in the first game really wanting Gremio back and then if you had collected all 108 stars, Leknaat comes and says "HEY, GUESS WHAT YOU GAIZ" and poof, Gremio. One of those moments that made me cry. (because let me tell you-- when I played through the game the first time, I wanted to kill the stupid headed Milch for the fact that Milch's castle trapped Gremio-- and if it hadn't been for the fact that I discovered the secret to reviving Gremio-- I would of never had recruited him to the party. :( (Yes, Gremio is my favorite character from the game, tied with Viktor-- used to RP the both of them back in the day when I still RPed)
The third pairing that I really really like is Tengaar/Hix-- Tengaar goes down as being one of my favorite females in the Suikoden franchise and I think that Hix acts as a perfect foil aka levening agent for her being that she is impetuous and all full of feminist rage toward the system, really when Neclord kidnapped her, he really had his work cut out for him. Really most of the females in Suikoden were awesome, nothing delicate or shy about them-- even the ones who escape the radar (Apple), comes back with a fricking vengenance, laying waste to all conceptions of delicate female mindsets in their wake.
And now for the icons
Both up for use if you want-- and no credit needed!
