I managed to peruse tumblr just like he said and I found this Rosa picture which I turned into an icon. It took me a few hours to really come out with a version of it that I really liked, but finally I did. I also have picked up Rosa as a RP character because I really wanted to get to know her better, so she's over there at
themeoflove where I am going to endeavor to build some Rosa love!
Once again, thank you
blm for the awesome suggestion, that was perhaps the only reason I ever FOUND that picture of Rosa that I liked so much.
My taste in pictures (and icons) are very predictable.

18/10/14 01:47 (UTC)I got lazy with characters - Cecil is the only one I've managed to maintain. XD

18/10/14 01:57 (UTC)Not sure about the perfectly, but some characters just stay with you longer, you know? (I could probably write Kain as well, actually - for fics I tended to write more Kain than Cecil.)
Ah, being able to get a good journal name is always a blessing!
I don't know if I'll take on any other characters - less time these days - but getting into a character's head is always fun!

18/10/14 02:02 (UTC)Which brings up an interesting thought -- have you noticed that the Mysidian Legend in all three versions are different.
The Super Nintendo one is different from the DS Remake, and the PSP Complete version has a different translation.
I was familiar with the first one "One to be born from a dragon, hoisting his light on the world" and then I got to mysidia today and was like "This is not what I remember. So I went back and checked out the DS version, that one is a different translation as well. Wierd.

18/10/14 02:04 (UTC)The first time I wrote Cecil (for fic, not for RP - that came later) - I actually went to dig up the scripts for all three versions and promptly got a headache. XD The Mysidian Legend is different, yes, but so are the way the characters are portrayed - it took a somewhat insane blend of all three versions and Dissidia 012 Cecil for me to settle on a version I liked!
I got confused by the PSP version as well - I'm familiar with the SNES version, and then when I replayed the Complete Collection I had the exact same reaction you did.

18/10/14 02:08 (UTC)Well okay, I'll give you-- the Spoony Bard is a classic and there would be many people who would riot if that was taken out.

18/10/14 02:13 (UTC)They apparently did check to see if the bard was legitimately spoony, and he was. I do wonder about the Mysidian Legend, though. Maybe they changed the speech patterns to fit in with what they thought a legend would sound like? Personally, I don't like it when it's overly ornate - it's a legend, I think there should be some dramatic elements but not too many.
♥ FFIV needs more love! I have way too much headcanon and flail and thoughts on Kain and Cecil and Rosa in particular.

18/10/14 02:16 (UTC)I think I prefer the original better but only I think it is because that one is stuck in my head -- it's one of those iconic FFIV moments, (much like when Kain and Cecil leave Baron and you get that view of the moon and the castle). Once the Mysidian legend is imparted to you, it's like "oooh Cecil is the chosen one'. and such, gives one purpose!

18/10/14 02:21 (UTC)I totally get what you mean! It was such a glorious moment. (Especially juxtaposed against Cecil's own guilt and self-doubt and how the Mysidian people had been acting towards him.)
Aaaaaah I need to pull together all my thoughts on Cecil and his gullibility-that-isn't.
...after I finish this Kuja analysis.
