So reading "Let's Plays" of Fire Emblem has seriously affected how I react to how a character levels in "Fire Emblem Warriors". Like when Chrom leveled and didn't gain an inch of strength, Lucina levels and gets that stat- and I am like, "Chrom, what is wrong with you? You're being showed up by your daughter from the future!". As if Chrom could talk back to me, hahahaha! But seriously it is a fun game, and while I'm not a fan of the overall style of Fire Emblem, I am a fan of the "Warriors" franchise, I find it fun in a hack and slash sort of way-- (also, seriously Chrom is the best dad, I would LOVE Chrom as a dad, he is proably in to BBQ's and profuse dad jokes.. at least that is how I imagine him.)

This weekend, my goal is to add a RP thread to my RP comm, [community profile] musehalla, and I will invite anyone to drop in and play with any of the characters listed on the user info. For now I am going to shy away from Bakerstreet as I really sort of want to find my RP voice again, and I don't want to be overwhelmed; start out slow and steady. Also, if you know a series that I am into, feel free to ask what character I would play from that series-- perhaps we can get a PSL going or something if we find mutual ground. (only series out of bounds is Xenogears/saga-- Citan Uzuki/Hyuga and co is permanently retired-- just do not have the energy to invest in that series when it comes to RP, I just can't do it)

On the icon plate, there is a new challenge and I've picked the 80s for that challenge, it's a sweeping generalization but I don't like to pigeonhole myself into a set series, I like to be able to have variety on what to icon, and I feel that the nostalgia will do me good! Also, new texture set up at [community profile] hiraethe, it's a departure from the usual grunge and there are a lot of textures that I am excited to use myself! When I make textures, my process is "would I use these?", and I've already used several of them on icons, they are really lovely and I definitely will be planning another set along those lines. But bright grunge is my usual style and goes so well with my anime/manga stylized trappings. (just call me shoujotrash, it's all good.) So far though the new style has gone over real well and it's really just taking stock photos and bluring them, overlaying or super zooming them, as well as adding colour effects when at all possible.

So now I have a new icon challenge to focus on-- this one will be involving the 80s~

As usually, I don't post icons over at this journal-- however if you are interested, my icon community is over at [community profile] hiraethe where I post all of my responses to challenges and all that-- I've been trying to once again draw away from 'shoujo hell', but it's the colours and the sparklies, can't help it~!

Hope y'all are having a good start to the weekend!

note: Walmart is selling 'soylent' now. I did a double take and was like "WTF!" Oh boy! People now come in 'strawberry' flavor!

Well first of all, yesterday was my year anniversary with my husband; it's hard to believe that I've been married to him for a year. Easily the best decision of my life and married to someone who 'gets' me. (well okay, he may not get me-- but he definitely makes a good showing of at least attempting to understand the person that is me.) So we went to see Captain Marvel however due to a major thunderstorm, we didn't see the last HOUR of the movie. We are pondering if we want to go and sit through the entire movie again to find out what happened. Then we went to The Cheesecake Factory and then came back home to watch The Umbrella Academy

Let me tell you, IN. FUCKING. LOVE~

If anyone is curious about the contents of my mind, think of an episode of the Umbrella Factory, with Klaus Hargreeves as the Mascot.

(yes, I know-- everyone loves Klaus; as well they should, he's just amazing.)

Also, right now on [community profile] lands_of_magic is the CHARACTER MANIFESTO challenge, and I am working on Schwann/Raven from Tales of Vesperia-- as I am PRETTY sure that I have enough fodder for him, certainly more than enough to turn up something interesting-- right now I am working on the fanmix, which will be 20 pts. Then I can do a few other things, really I got this totally under control!

How has everyone's weekend been? Hopefully it's been awesome~! <3

Today I am going to go on a different less serious tangent, so today I am going to focus on "Favorite Female Characters from RPGs".

As y'all know, I am very much in love with the RPG genre, and I've been in love with it since the beginning of time it seems-- and I've already enumerated by top favorite men in the RPG genre, so now it's time for me to give the ladies their due desserts as well. There are also a really awesome strong minded ladies in that series, not just love interests and not just kidnap fodder (No, I am not referencing Rosa-- on my 3rd playthrough of FFIV is when I finally started to appreciate the white mage, and I think she is a wonderful example of a supportive nurturing healer who also happens to be the love interest of the main character, and yes-- she was kidnapped many times, but hey-- Kain was too so we can't be calling names here)

IN ORDER OF LEAST TO MOST )

I work Customer Technical Support at Spectrum/Charter.. Thankfully it is business and I am luckily that 98 percent of my calls, people are very decent and if they are angry or unhappy, I can de-escalate them no problem. Empathy works wonders most every time and once you display that you understand the customer's frustrations-- you are able to sort of move forward with getting the issues resolved.

OH BOY NOT ONE OF THE CALLS TODAY.

When the CX (ick, sorry-- it's easy to use the shorthand when typing out-- I've done it all day on the phone, but the CX basically means 'Customer') called, it was a simple issue involving them logging into their Spectrum Business account, they couldn't see their statement, and when they tried, it kept asking them to enter a MAC address. Simple enough, I display the appropriate sympathy and then I get the CX's permission to change the password and replicate the issue. It takes me to the billing statement, no problem. I tell the customer that I am able to see their statement and then I 'attempt' to guide them to the right area.

Suddenly he is SUPER resistant to this, saying that I am wrong, that this is what it is giving him. I ask him to back out of the page that he is on and go to the Account Summary and to the billing, and he just doesn't want this at all-- and from zero-to-disaster, he is suddeenly calling me 'bitch', 'cunt', 'whore'. The entire slew of really derogatory names in the book--- a business man, someone who is supposed to be professional. He asks for a supervisor as he makes his way into the derogatory terms reserved for people that he considers to be of low intelligence, including the famous 'r' word (which I refuse to even spell out, because that is a really janky term to use). In that course I am crying, but they are not sad 'woe is my self esteem' tears, no-- it is angry tears. My mind thinking "HOW DARE HE, HE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW ME". I put him on hold and do not pick that call up again, I calmly ask for a Supervisor and tell them that if I have to go on the line again, I will probably get fired with what I will say.

He hangs up while people are debating who is going to field this call and reaches another agent in the pod over, who doesn't even try to TS (troubleshoot), no-- he immediately starts in on the insults, and then he hangs up on her too with the added insult "I wish all women would just die off and leave us men alone" <-- exact words. But the next person on the line is a man, and he treats him no better. Finally he manage to get him escalated and to a Supervisor--

But still I started that call, but I don't feel like it ran away with me. I know that he was already in an angry and unreasonable state, and me answering the phone was just giving him permission to just be a shitty shitty person, there was nothing that I could of done to make him happy to be perfectly honest-- and it was just a blessing that I wasn't there in person, I would of decked him right in the face, it would of been super easy-- barely an inconvenience.
