I WISH THAT PLAYING A GAY HIGHLANDER IN FFXIV WOULD NOT BRING OUT ALL THE TWINK CATTES, unfortunately they do. Like I had an RP with someone, and they were like "I AM NOT LIKE THE OTHER CATTES! I LIKE STORY AND PLOT" and I am like "YAY!". and then by the end of the RP they were trying to crawl into Kristophe's lap because they were 'in heat'-- STAHP, DO NOT WANT!
Also they got disappointed when I told them that Kris was 24, disappointed because they thought he was older-- WHY DOES THAT EVEN MATTER!?

Huh. That is definitely one way to approach RP, I guess. I wonder why Kris' age being 24 would even matter ultimately.

Because with all people that play characters that are considered 'bottoms', they want their characters to be younger and smaller then their RP partner. And that really queued me into what exactly they wanted when they expressed disappointment in Kris being younger. And it's really very silly and extremely trite

The RP servers in FFXIV can be a trainwreck--- like eye gouging trainwreck. And the person clearly pegged my highlander as super masculine gay. If they saw the contents of my glamour dresser including my fishnets and flower crown, they would be disabused of the notion

That's cool. I would totally be down for RP, but I know a lot of guilds like backstories that tie into the lore. I know that makes it more interesting and fun, but I just dont have to time to come up with all that.

So what I am saying is that if you ever do original RP, I do that too and I have tons of non fandon based characters with varying sexualities, hair colours, professions and preferences for oce cream take your pick. Everything from a dumb as bricks gladiator with a heart of gold to a plucky princess who can fight her own battles and was probably a ninja in a past life

Character creation is something I hugely enjoy. If you are not opposed, then I would be happy to customize a character for play. Tell me about three characters you want to play and the type of character you want to play them off, and I will make someone. Also, I kind of love world building.

I was about ready to keysmash excitedly at work, but then I remembered that I can't do that very well on a cellphone-- so I had to wait til I got home. I love the process of character building as well-- and world building! Yes, one of my favorite parts of RPing! The thing that I have so many favorite character types I like to play and a lot of those character types can pretty much be thrown into whatever medium right now.

I like a play in opposites, like the fiery person and the person who is cool calm and collected, the person who is dark and brooding and intense paired with someone who is pretty much happy go lucky and a proverbial open book. I have characters that pretty much fall into each and every spectrum (and I am addicted to making characters on FFXIV because I love the character building, giving them the breath of life so to speak)

I am good at cool calm and collected, I am pretty good at happy go lucky and impulsive-- both male and female. My favorite type of character for males is the sort of go with the flow type (though I also do batshit crazy pretty well too, but that might not be too close from home)-- but usually with some sort of past that causes them to brood if they dwell about it too much (a problem that they try to play avoidance with, I mean we've all done it.) As far as females go, I love playing women who are born in to some sort of royalty or the whatnot, but who really just want to be free, usually through doing things that are necessarily thought of as 'man things', like sword fighting. They can rock the royal demeanor well, but they are never truly happy with it.

I also play a mean grumpy coffee addicted sorceror (substitute this with researcher, professor or librarian as needed) or two-- someone who probably tries to get them out of their shell through various means-- hijinks ensue for all!

Really when it comes down to, I love playing characters and getting into mindsets, listening to music that make me think of my characters, writing little ficlets! I am sure you can see how excited about this entire prospect that perhaps we may RP together! Also I am open to f/f, m/f and m/m and will play either side of the coin joyfully!

I am sorry that almost a month has gone by without my replying. Your comment made me absolutely joyful. Unfortunately, I have anxiety and depression, and depression has been kicking my butt this month. If you're still interested in text-based RP, I would totally love that. I like the idea of playing opposites and would be fine with any of the character (archetypes?) you.

What type of world do you want to play in? I would be up for fantasy with humor or a Victorian world where magic exists but is rare or something of the like. I think we share a love of period trash.

I would kind of like to create multiple characters to fill out the world with a variety of different platonic, familial and romantic relationships. I don't mind playing men, women, or nb people. I'm pansexual and most of my characters end up being pansexual too because not being interested in someone base on their gender is hard for me to brain.

One thing though, I cannot promise that depression won't smack me down again. It probably will. It's totally cool if you are too busy with other rp stuff or need a more reliable partner.

Oh gosh, no worries about it-- I didn't forget about you; I just had a lot of stuff on my plate and I figured that you were probably busy, I try not to pester people because I know how important it is not to feel pressured to be honest. The answer is, YES! I would be interested in a text-based RP (And totally, I love period trash to be honest-- anything from the Gregorian to Regency to Victorian is pretty fine by me and I love love love magic/fantasy, so perhaps something based on that-- oooh magic, ooooh fairies, warlocks. I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY A GENTLEMAN WARLOCK THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

But yes, I like that idea as well-- filling the world with characters and allowing them to sort of expand over time--- and now I am thinking of a gentleman warlock now-- this will be fun!

I don't mind-- I know that things happen especially with regards to mental health-- and it's best to take care of yourself first and formost. I will love posts, but I will also understand your need to drop off the face of the planet for a few to get yourself together, self care IS important.

And THIS is why I rather have/play original characters than the canon logical characters. This way I can adjust the way a character is played, or how I play said character, to fit into the canon.


Unfortunately, with that I always get is a l o t of replies* like "EW, an OC!", or "You know, I don't think I want to play with your character...Sorry!", or they don't reply to me at ALL.

*---Which of course makes my anxiety go apepoop crazy because I'm always wondering "Did I do something wrong?", "Is my history of the character not good enough (read: I *ALWAYS* try to research and try to make sure that the character is not too Mary Sue-ish and go from there)?", or my personal hated one: "Am I just not good enough for you to play with my character? Are you just humoring me? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!!" (and TBH, I almost teared up writing that part.) .

Just as long as you play that characterbhow you love, it should not matter at all! I play some of my favorite characters by OOC standards because itbisbhow I connect to them... my Magus Zeal is probably much different from the actual source material and I have made my peace with that...

I mean, I put hard research into everything (like my Hetalia character, for example. I researched the history, who all came from the place, the great flood, etc.) just to make sure it's up to their standards of a character.
