Today I found out that someone that I work with died in a car wreck last night.

I mean I didn't know this person as well as I would of wanted to and yet I realize that I'll never truly get to know this person at all.. that all the times that I could of just popped over to say hi, I didn't.. and there's nothing that tastes quite as bitter as regret.

And it is funny because Stalcup and I were just talking about her and about how I admired her energy and wanted to get her onto Kulture Krew to serve a term. Now she never will do a great many things, she was so young and full of energy. She had the ability to light up the room by walking into it. I always thought she was awesome but she worked in a different department then me so we really didn't get to talk.

However one of the memories I cherish is of me landing some new reciepts by the dock. She grabs me and goes "Nia Nia Nia!" and then she steers me toward the doors where there is the most gorgeous sunset, all orange and stuff. And she says "I wanted to share this with you, Nia" and it really sort of touched me and made my day.

Human life is fragile, so you really have to make the most of every day, of every opportunity.

Her family is in my prayers and thoughts and she's probably right now doing something silly up there, like instigating a inter-heaven water balloon fight, or something. Oh the hijinks.

I will miss her light.

*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear about your coworker's death. Things like that can happen so unexpectedly. It is awful when they do happen. My thoughts/prayers are with her family and everyone who knew her.

You know, I went into work today and I just knew that we were going to have some words spoken on it since everyone at the place that I work is very close-knit. There is grief-counseling being offered and then Willie said quite simply, "Celebrate Amaris' life, not commiserate her death" and truer words have never been spoken,.

I am sorry to hear that :( I know what it's like to lose someone who you were kind of close to, or at least saw in your everyday life. It's kind of surreal.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I tend to dwell on death a lot more than reasonable for my age, but it will always come when it comes, and I'm glad your co-worker led a bright, happy life that will stay with everyone, including you, because you're right. That's what matters in the end.

I'll keep her and her family in my thoughts, and I hope all of you have the time you need to reflect while she's up there being silly. *hugs* I wish I had better things to say.

Oh me.. since I grew up with my grandmother.. I knew that she was older in years and that death was going to happen sooner rather then later and there were many times that I 'dreamed' that she had died Which didn't make her passing away any less devestating. I know it's a necessary part of life but it's sad when it happens to people way to young.. I think Amaris was only 20 years old... she wasn't very old in the scheme of things.

It is. I have an intense fear of dying young/killing myself, etc., although I'm already four years older than she was. I also worry about my parents, since my father is almost to his sixties. Heck, I even worry about my cat, since she's getting up there. It's pretty absurd of me.

I wish people didn't have to experience it at all, but since it can't happen, I just hope they don't have to experience it this soon, even though I know it will happen regardless of whatever I want. It's a shame she got snatched away so soon.

Geez, that's so awful. :( *hugs* I can relate losing a co-worker out of nowhere. One of our quality engineers at another plant was murdered one weekend. He was a young guy and I would see him for product reviews and such. Human life is really so fragile, and it's sad to be reminded through someone else's unfortunate fate. :(

it's really easy to forget that people can just die, so easily, just like that. it's sort of scary. i'm really sorry someone in your life died, even if she wasn't someone you knew well. i want to say it should teach you to appreciate every moment in life more, but i don't think there's enough time in life to do that. I hope it doesn't get to you too badly.
