Personally, I think any kind of tattoo is cool. In fact, my girlfriend is getting some FFXV stuff done pretty soon (the pixel versions of the Chocobros down her arm.) I've seen some amazing fandom tattoos online, makes me want to get some ink done. :P

Actually, I wouldn't mind getting Munna done since that wee psychic floating piggybank Pokemon is my favourite. <3

Yeah, I don't get the hate. Fandom tattoos seem like a great thing to talk over, like an ice breaker. I've made at least one friend over a FF7 tattoo (they had Cloud Strife and I was cosplaying Reno at the time!) XD

And I really hate the assumptions in the comments of that secret that getting a tattoo = assuming you'll love the thing forever and ever and ever. More often it's as much about commemorating the impact the thing had on you as it is about the thing itself.

Just... the whole thing is an infuriating mess.

If people did them and didn't care what people thought, fandom secrets wouldn't exist-- while I am sad that some people can't post their secrets, there are some people that are trolls and/or just hate everything and everyone!

but WHY? are people still this prudish about tattoos? i don't personally have any MYSELF but i'm terrified of needles and pokey things, there's no reason to shame people for doing what they wanna do to their own bodies :(

i bet you a lot of these same people would get really mad if there were something about them to make them feel shameful about and would jump to defend themselves even if it was a legitimately terrible thing to be shamed over

Fandom Secrets can be very sad and cruel all at the same time-- sad because there are people who can't be themself... and cruel because the other half post about things but are too cowardly to post their name because they fear over peoples reaction to stupid hate

i am a really newbie here so i am not quite sure about what entry u are talking excactly, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I am one with these "trash tattoos" and I am really proud of it *lol* in fact I just got my 4th one, not every is fandom related, but I am already working/thinking about my next one ;)

tbh i dont care what other people think at all, and my ink is on my skin, so it is totally up to me .. so yes i am proud of it ;)
i have a book tattoo with a quote from doctor who, a rune from the book series the mortal instrument, and next I tink about a phonix which is holding a chain with THE ONE RING, so its a combination of hp with lotr ... but at the moment it is just an idea ...

the others are a friendship tattoo with my bff for almost 20 years now - its a wheelchair bc both have to use one ;), and a tiger with a tree, and 3 footprints, each print for one of my cats ;)

Yeah I saw that secret and was like I'm just not going to read the comments. Looks like I was right.

On the subject of fandom tattoos when my sister got hers I thought about getting a really awesome Sailor Moon tattoo but decided not to. I still haven't gotten a tattoo yet, mostly because I'm still deciding what I want.

I respect everyone and anyone who waits for the perfect tattoo-- I have two tattoos, one I would sort of regret if it matched the koi fish that my ex girlfriend had-- but it doesn't-- hers was more intricate then mine, mine is kinda cute in it's own little way. And is a great stand alone one== but waiting until the right tattoo strikes you is a move I fully support!

(A related [sort of] story: A friend on FB was using her fountain pen (a thing we are into), and a woman was all complimentary. Then she took her jacket off, showing her tattoos (because it was hot, not TO show them), and the woman got all huffy and said "You shouldn't be using that pen. Those are for class, not trash." Like WTF give people the stones to say stuff like that? Anyway, /nonsequitur....)

OH MY GOD!

That was so rude of her-- seriously; a body is a temple and it is up to the person to decorate it how they see fit! I think getting art on your body is amazing! but I fully support thinking about it fully before you do it, because a tattoo is pretty permanent!

TBH, I always wanted a tattoo of something on me, but having anxiety makes it so bad that I nearly hype myself up to near fainting.


And to be honest, shaming fandom tattoos is just as bad as saying "Your cosplay SUCKS because you're not the right weight/size/person etc., etc., etc.!!!!".

I mean, it's FUN to cosplay! Not to hear some stuck up moron telling me I can't cosplay a boy because I'm a girl/I'm too fat/I'm too short...

I am very familar with Hetalia-- I was addicted to that series for the longest time! And yeah, stupid people-- I hate how they suck the enjoyment out of most everything! I have to admit that I have had a hard time getting back into fandoms because of asshats. :(
