I refuse to listen to anyone who tells me that my cats are not my children. I just dropped L.I.T.A off at the vet and seriously the lady had to console me that it would be okay because I was in tears. But there are people who say that love for a pet is not the 'same' as love for a child.

I call bullshit.

You clean up a pet's messes, you clean up a child's messes; you love them and care for them, you feed them and you look after their well being. Both the same thing; sure you don't pay for a cat's trip through college but the same ammount of devotion goes into caring for a pet as for a child (or it should).

Oh well, now for some Sailor Moon Crystal.

I hate that attitude, that feelings toward an animal family members must be inferior. I don't think a difference in species means love and concern must be any less.

What is L.I.T.A staying at the vet's for?

Well she has stopped growiling like a grumpipuss so that's positive (really the vet told me that my cat was feisty and grumpy and I was like "Dude, I already knew this".

She is doing just fine; right now she is holed up in the bathroom in a comfortable place. I am going to move her somewhere else in a moment, somewhere nice and a little more comfortable.

Hell yes. To this. Ugh. That is really just an awful lack of understanding and some kind of...moral difference that humans are always better and never flawless over the company of an animal who has been nothing but loving and you've loved it. Grrr I'm mad for you hahaha. Anyway um, I hope your kitty does well. Mine'll be going for the same procedure soon.

Yeah she went through it fine, she's on pain medicine now as she's gotten out of the anesthesia, so she'll probably be a purr box. She was just grumpy and disoriented last night.

Gah, I can't stand people with that attitude either. A ton of care and responsibility goes into looking after a pet, and nothing makes me feel fuzzy quite like seeing my pets happy.

I know right? My two girls are my babies and I cry whenever I know they are going to get hurt, I just don't want them to have kittens. It would be nice but it's so hard finding homes for kittens.

Love is love. Anyone who downgrades love based on the recipient needs to take a time out.

I'd say my love for my cat is not the same as my love of children simply because my love of children does not exist therefore it cannot be compared in the same way. :D
