The advantage of reading a series for the second time is that you feel all the love again-- and you fall in love with characters and pairings all over again.

The disadvantage is knowing exactly what is going to happen to said characters and pairings

This is very true. Every time I revisit a fandom/series I remember what made me love it in the first place, only to sometimes recall that it doesn't always end well for the characters. ♥ That's me with Peacemaker Kurogane ATM. Thanks to the the new movies I'm reminded how much I love the characters and story, but then I remember that the manga goes into "ZOMG! HORRIBLE DARK DEPRESSION MODE!" since we're starting to see all those scenes in the movies now. :/
