They did confirm dancer-- also they did confirm a few other things that make me squee (crystal tower everyone, CRYSTAL TOWER!) of course it involves one of my favorite parts of the lore, the Allagan Empire and while I know that it won't be the official lore from this present time, it will still be a fun playthrough. A minus is that they introduced two gender locked races and while I am not sad about that, (I was only ever going to make a viera girl) I know that there are loads of people who are disappoint about that.

But oh my gosh, the lore is just gonna keep getting better and better!

AND DANCER! WITH CHAKRAMS! What could be better? I really wanted this LAST expansion, so that it is coming now is just amazing!

Fangirling aside. welcome more friends from the friending meme! *waves* Disclaimer: I'm nuts--- I am sure that everyone on my flist will agree with me there, but I do like people-- and while I may not comment ALL THE TIME, I definitely read through the posts and if I see something that I feel i can validly contribute (without sounding like a moron), I will.

Now to make my post for lands_of_magic which is pretty much a comms request post. Most of what I request are going to be icon journals, since that is once again, the majority of how I participate in fandom. I will definitely post the links here too so y'all can check them out as well!

aw man, i'm sorry to hear that viera are gender locked but i'm really excited that dancer is confirmed! my xiv dreams are coming true, i can't wait to catch up!

A lot of people are angry because of the gender lock and well as dancer not being heals but like I am not angry about it because I remember Square HAS gender locked dancer before so I am super happy that they didnt.. and alternate allagan empire for the win! i think it's unfortunate but even considering old lore, it makes sense. i remember people really wanting dancer to be a healer instead of yet another dps class . the queues are already pretty long for poor blm me, ahhhh. either way, you're right, it's better to focus on the positives. personally, i'm really happy ab viera because i've been hoping to be one since i started playing.

I've never played FFXIV, but looking at the lore and seeing there are elves and dwarves on the new world really makes me curious. I'm playing through FFI right now and so glad they didn't forget that it used to be just straight D&D as a JRPG, even if it grew into its own thing later.

(I also like the "the world has no night, you must bring back the dark" thing)

Well if you ever decide to play it.. let me know! And it is exciting q lot of the things they are implementing but the lore is so rich that they have two lore books out currently. Both with different info! And even if you dont play, the lore is worth it!

I went and bought the first Encyclopedia Eorzea after you told me it was still a good read even not having played the game, though I haven't gotten around to reading it yet... I will, though!

My SO and myself were pretty excited by the update and announcements too!! :D

They've gendered locked races before and changed that...so maybe a future update might change things?

But now, because of this, I now find myself scoping for anything related to HILDIBRAND MANDERVILLE, AGENT OF ENQUIRY, INSPECTOR EXTRAORDINAIRE~! !
