I waited until I finished Shadowbringers to read this post and I HEAR YOU about the storyline hangover.
My reaction to the entire thing was something like
Step 1: Cry Step 2: Recover Step 3: Cry harder Step 4: Cry while rolling in the beautiful music Step 5: Cry on someone else after finishing duty
When I got to the underwater city and walked through its empty streets I actually felt this chill and sadness. I don't know how to put it, but playing the whole expansion felt a little like a homecoming - I don't think I've felt this... I mean, Heavensward was frankly brilliant but this was... I haven't felt like that since FFIX.
Which job did you play it on? I finished it on my WHM and cried a lot over the role quest too.
