It really is a lot of fun to play a game all the way over again.
Going into my second playthrough of "Tales of Vesperia", I was a little bit wary because I thought perhaps I wasn't quite ready, there were so many worries I had in my head as that was a fandom that myself and my ex-girlfriend shared. And I have a real fucking hard time with fandoms because once upon a time I had a partner in crime, but a long the way I've had to sort of go the path alone without a bosom companion. But let me tell you, I really don't know what I was worrying about. I don't even hate Yuri which means that maybe I've grown past the whole 'superimposing' other people onto characters---> god knows I've grown out of that myself, I love characters but I don't pretend that I 'am' them, not any longer.
And I am picking so much up that was lost on the second playthrough, all the nuances-- every time Schwann shows up, every thing Flynn utters, the Rita/Estelle subtext. OH YES AND I AM ENJOYING PATTY, oh my gosh, could she be any cuter? Maybe she is balancing my whole dislike of Karol, I don't know-- but her voice is cute, she is cute and just d'awww.
I am also seeing some Duke/Raven subtext which actually makes me happy, it means my shipping googles are still on and fully functional.
Also-- dare I say, I can see Yuri/Flynn-- I can accept them as a pairing in a way that I sort of shunned a long time ago. Like, I think that they are both INTENSELY stubborn individuals and still have a hell of a lot of growing to do, but in my heart--I think I want to see them hit the endgame together, because you have lawful good and chaotic good together, and it just sort of works right there-- they both are striving for the same thing, but they are both diametrically opposite in their ways of doing it.
I seriously played Tales of Vesperia most of yesterday (when Tales of Vesperia hit my hands) and nearly ALL of today.

That being said, I'm glad you are having fun with Vesperia! I only saw it begin with my ex, although I'm a Tales of fan (my fav is Eternia, followed by Symphonia) but there are a lot I haven't played yet because I lack the platform and/or game.

I don't have much intelligent to say to your comments about the game other than "yes!" and "very good!". Viva la shipping. ;)

Oh I totally get you with the "did I laugh like that?" feeling, there's been a number of times I've had this big stupid grin on my face while playing. Judith joining your party was one of them and I always have this low key lol moment whenever anyone calls Raven "old man". He's not old, Rowen in Tales of Xillia was old!!

I might wait a little while and see if the price drops some too. The only thing with Tales series is that once they reach a certain point, they become hard to find. :/ We'll see how I feel once I'm more on top of my life. lol. I also want Kingdom Hearts 3 something fierce, but that one makes mroe sense to wait on because it'll definitely drop in price over the months or have a DLC collected edition by the time my birthday rolls around.

Unfortunately, that's all the comment I can make because I've never played a single Tales game! It is a hole in my JRPG knowledge.
