I am pretty obsessive with icons.

I paid for an account where I get all the icons-- and if more icons are offered on top of that, damn you better believe I am going to jump on that. It's all about the options with me, the more options the better. Currently I am at 166 icons-- out of 500; it means I have so many more opportunities to create, and icons are pretty easy for my attention span to handle-- I have icons that are nostalgic (anything from my Xenogears/saga days), but I also have icons that are of current obsessions- (Versailles, anyone?), then there are the icons that I WANT to make but haven't gotten to yet (I really want to make an Eizen icon). But there are also icons from other people that I go "GEE I COULD NOT MYSELF MAKE A BETTER ICON!" and I will cling to that icon until the day I die.

Of course, I do credit the makers with the icons. If you are new to DW and you make icons and were on LJ, please go to my icons and see if there is anything there that YOU HAVE MADE, that I inadvertantly didn't credit-- please let me know; I will give you my utmost appreciation!

Also if you like any of the icons from

hiraethe and want to use them-- go ahead and use; I also take icon requests which you can also find at that site. (I clarify, if it is a FFXIV icon involving my character, please do not take-- even though I have no clue why someone would use those icons since it would virtually hold no meaning to them.)

But back to the subject at hand.

I am picky about the lyrics I use for my icons, I am picky about placement of my icons on icon page. (I do not like clashing colours next to each other-- the latest two icons, side by side-- both in shades of blue, both totally in harmony with each other-- zen has been achieved.)

What I am excited about with the whole Tumblr migration, is maybe a surge in icon making! I love looking at icons that other people have put their heart and souls into, and I hope that there will be an influx of creativity, I am definitely (as Yoshi-P would say) looking forward to it! And hey, I seriously need to use more of other people's icons, just to promote that same creativity that I want to foster in myself.

Tales of Beseria

I picked it up after my last record of playing the game (May 5th, 2017-- yes, I can't help it, Stormblood happned in June and well, FFXIV is the game that I will NEVER be done with, so May was pretty much "CATCH UP ALL THE THINGS FOR RHALGR!" And then I created a new character on a server and ended up going from zero to hero. But back to Beseria-- I really liked what I was playing and with Vesperia, they had a 'fight battles in equipment and learn skills', well Beseria has the exact same system so it's constantly 'swap equipment, learn skill, swap back" and it is also challenging me to take on more Dire Foes so I can get ALL THE GRADE

I can actually look at a character and go "I will love that character". I looked at MagiLou and just knew, sure enough-- I loved her; who I did not expect to love though was Eizen. It isn't like Graces where I loved ALL THE CHARACTERS (even Cheria, who gets in the way of my ship, I really really really love so I can't really bash the Cheria/Asbel ship-- and I can see it and appreciate it in its own way even though I AM TEAM RICHBEL)

disclaimer: I am equal opportunity shipping so I do whatever makes sense to me. Be it het, f/f or m/m. In Graces case, I love Richbel, cheria/Sophie and Hubert/Pascal, thereby covering all bases at once. However with Beseria, I have found it hard to ship any of them-- it is like there is some bar/limiter on my mind, SAD BUT TRUE. I want to ship Eizen/Magi but I also know that it WILL NOT END WELL.

Oh thank you.. it was just a normal post from me, it is certainly nothing in comparison to a lot of other dreamwidth users whose meta is much more... honed than mine. I tend to just fan-gurgitate to be honest.

I think enthusiasm counts just as much as honing.

Your icons are always so amazing! I love your style. And I love that you put thought into the lyrics you use for icons too. I find your comments on your icon creating process really interesting to read through. XD

I've also found it hard to ship Berseria characters. I feel this cast isn't much for romance, especially considering the story they're in.

Yeah, I mean they are pretty no nonsense-- and if they are no-nonsense, I sometimes can find a way to ship them anyways, but well none of them really had any romantic entanglements to begin with, I think maybe it is because they are a collection of people who had done their own thing their entire lives and will probably continue to do their own thing the entire time-- and while there may be hook ups or such, I don't think that the group is the sort to let any of that cloud their judgement (or lack theirof)

I'm already tempted by a paid account just for more icons. I have had a perma over on LiveJournal since like... 2003 now, I think, so I've never had less than 100 icons available to me. Having only 15 is torture. XD

I commend you for releveling a character in FFXIV honestly, it's something I've always "wanted" to do when I was playing but was always really eeeeugh about playing with 90% of my buttons missing while leveling.

I am currently drawing an almost total blank on the actual characterization of the ToB cast (that sounds awful, but I played it a long time ago and haven't thought about it much since) but I do remember really liking Eizen. I liked Magilou but I distinctly remember thinking she'd be a very exhausting person to actually deal with haha.

In the past I was never able to make icons but now that I can crop any picture I want into an icon I kind of want to pay for more.

YESSS all the icons ever, it makes me super happy, too! I just took a look at your stuff and I love it! I will go over it more when I get a chance today! I make icons too but not quite as cool. Mostly cropping (though I've personally colored an icon or two from manga) at

I never thought I'd like a character like Magilou but she is amazing! She's really funny and interesting, way more than she seems on the surface. I would read Magilou/Eizen though I've never given it thought before now... it might not end well but I like complicated stuff, lol! I already told you my ships, though!

When I get home I will bang out my ships for you!

Well first of all-- I don't consider my icons cool-- they are pretty much made from the heart.. and I can't like pound out 50 like other people can, so pretty much the few that I have, well I am gonna try to 1.) at least make them interesting 2.) COLOUR ALL THE COLOUR. When you give me the images you want for Adol, I am totally over that though! <3

Let's see, as for Zagi-- I don't really pair Zagi up with anyone, one of those one off characters that I adore but really never hoped on the shipping boat with (there are a few characters that I like that are like that).

Most of my pairings are pretty much fandom favorites, but there are a few that are so out of left field that you will go "WHAT?" because the pair I am thinking about isn't even in the SAME SERIES.

That is a good list! And I don't mind crossover ships, they can be really fun even if it leaves you kind of lonely or with the burden of explaining them! I have cross canon ships from anime AND games. At least Richter/Duke can understand discussing similar world settings. They seem to have a similar aesthetic, too!

I don't remember if I mentioned I like Jude/Milla too, but I do!

I have gotten much more lenient with ships to be honest-- I used to be die hard about them, but really it's whatever works and there are a few pairings that I can mix and match. I used to ship Yuri/Raven and that was like sole pairing-- but then me and my ex girlfriend broke up (that was our favorite ship) and I just sort of drew away from it, so now I ship Yuri with anyone BUT Raven

Ah, yeah, that could make it hard to like the old ship. But new ones and tastes changing is also okay! I don't really like a lot of the stuff I used to when I was younger, and that was just what I liked shifting over time. For me it boils down to the dynamic and chemistry I like, so I do end up with tons of cross-canon ships that way and totally get how others can, too! Then it ends up hurting my wallet as I want to get stuff for all the variants of ships...
